The Arts at Labrador Hill
Executive director Sarah Rabinowitz Mognoni has been an artist all of her life-from childhood on she reveled in theatre, costume, painting and mixed media. Learning to sew in middle school, she made all of her own clothing through high school and was introduced to painting once she entered Connecticut College as a freshman in 1975. The faculty at Conn were strongly influenced by the color theory of Josef Albers and transmitted a passion for high energy hue to Sarah. For forty years Sarah has continued to paint, design and make clothing , draw and garden-most recently adding ballroom dance to her exploration of healthy modes of self expression.
She has found that most people attracted to the Sanctuary’s mission are also artistically inclined in some way-and see, as she does, the strong connection between nurturing the creativity in people to nurturing animals and the earth.
We at Labrador Hill welcome other artists to contribute their work to our Arts page alongside Sarah’s work. Let us know if you are interested in exhibiting your work here-the Sanctuary will take a 35% commission on any sold pieces.
